From stream to sustainability

Espen Nordtveit er prosjektutvikler i Endra. På fritiden jobber han med et spennende prosjekt, han vil nemlig bygge et eget vannkraftverk.

Hydropower plant on the family farm

Something that has sparked interest and conversation among colleagues is Espen’s ongoing project to build a hydropower plant on his family’s farm in Vindafjord. Although the process is still in an early phase, the project has already drawn attention. – I come from a farm where we have a stream that we have wanted to use for power production, explains Espen. I took the initiative to start the application process with NVE, and although we have not yet begun construction, we envision a power plant with an annual production of nearly 1 GWh.

Life on the farm and at Endra

Even though Espen no longer lives on the farm, growing up there has given him valuable insight and a strong sense of responsibility. – Growing up on the farm gave me a unique opportunity to learn about responsibility and hard work from an early age. This background will be a positive asset in my role as a project developer at Endra, especially when working with landowners, he says.

Responsibilities and ambitions
At Endra, Espen will play an important role in the development of new projects. With a main focus on the technical aspects, he will work on finding innovative solutions and following up projects through to the construction phase of solar power plants.
