Endra expands solar and battery investments in Denmark
The Norwegian solar power company Endra is partnering with the Danish utility company Jysk Energi to invest in a new hybrid project in Denmark. The Nagbøl solar and battery park will be developed by Ænergy, a developer with extensive experience and a strong project portfolio in renewable energy. In one year, when the project is expected to be completed, Endra will become the majority owner of the park.
– This is an important milestone for Endra. The investment in Nagbøl solar park will further contribute to the company’s growth and strengthens an already strong and professional collaboration with Ænergy and Jysk Energi, says Kristian Gautesen, CEO in Endra.
Nagbøl solar park will have an installed capacity of 54 MWp and is expected to generate approximately 62 GWh of renewable energy annually— equivalent to the electricity consumption of around 15,000 Danish households. The project also includes a 36 MW / 72 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) to be installed on site. This will enable the storage of solar energy and the delivery of power when demand is highest, as well as the provision of various ancillary services to stabilize and enhance the quality of the electricity grid. Construction is expected to commence in April 2026, with planned completion in spring 2027.
The solar park will be built using state-of-the-art tracker technology, and the project has made several adaptations to ensure strong local engagement and support within the surrounding community. The partners are also open to local private stakeholders joining the ownership structure.
Expanding the partnership
In September last year, Endra—owned by the utility company Haugaland Kraft—acquired a majority stake in Kroghøj Solar Park from Ænergy, with Jysk Energi and KP Sol & Vind remaining as direct owners. This laid the foundation for an expanded partnership and continued collaboration on the realization of Solcellepark Nagbøl.
– The investment we are making aligns with our strategy to develop strong, profitable solar and battery projects in the Nordic region, and I am very proud of what a highly competent Endra team can deliver in cooperation with strong local partners,” says Kristian Gautesen, CEO in Endra.
“Nagbøl Solar Park is a high-quality project with strong local anchoring that will deliver much-needed new renewable energy to society. Co-location with a battery system gives the project a flexible profile towards the power system and increased profitability,” says Rune Idsø, CFO in Endra.
– We are very pleased to have signed this agreement with such a forward-looking and responsible company as Endra. Previous cooperation has shown that we share many of the same values and a common understanding of what constitutes a strong project, which bodes well for the development of this park,” says Morten Porse, CEO in Ænergy.
Endra’s ambition is to become a leading solar power producer in the Nordic region. In addition to its projects in Denmark, the company is working to mature projects in Finland and has a concession and an operational solar power plant in Norway.
