HIM Solar park is in operation at Toraneset miljøpark, located outside Haugesund. The approximately 3 MWp plant is the first large-scale ground-mounted solar park in the region and is expected to generate around 2,7 GWh annually, equicalent to the electricity consumption of more than 160 households.
The solar park was developed and built by Endra in collaboration with Haugaland Interkommunale Miljøverk (HIM). It is built on a former landfill that will be monitored for 30 yeard. By using this area for renewable energy production, land that would otherwise have limited use can contribute to producing renewable electricity.
Endra has entered into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Rema 1000. Under the agreement, Rema 1000 will purchase all electricity generated by HIM Toraneset Solar Park.
Endra is working to add a battery energy storage system (BESS) at HIM Toraneset Solar Park. The planned battery will have a capacity of 2.5 MW and will complement the solar power production by adding greater flexibility
