Floating solar power for Norwegian conditions
“Floating solar for Norwegian Conditions” is an Enova-supported project between Sunlit Sea, Endra, EV Powercharge, and Haugaland Næringspark, aiming to develop floating solar energy solutions for the Nordic climate. This marks an important step toward harnessing renewable energy on water surfaces—such as lakes, reservoirs, and coastal areas—without major impacts on nature.
Floating Solar Energy for Emission-Free Transport
Floating solar panels with a capacity of 105 kWp have now been installed on Skiftestjørna in Haugaland Næringspark. Sunlit Sea provided the panels and carried out the installation. The energy produced is transferred just 50 meters across the road to a battery bank connected to a fast-charging station delivered by EV Powercharge. Trucks and passenger vehicles passing through the industrial park can stop here and recharge with clean, locally sourced energy.
Endra acts as the project coordinator, bringing together all participating companies while collecting and analyzing performance data. This data will also be shared with institutions such as Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and various research projects to support knowledge-sharing and further development of floating solar power in the region.
