New addition to Endra with a PhD in solar energy

Andres Olivares is the newest addition to Endra and has taken on the role of Project Developer. – An important task as a project developer is to carry out solar energy simulations as accurately as possible in order to reduce the financial risk of project investments, he explains.
A salsa course led him to solar energy in Norway
Andres has a strong academic background from both Chile and Norway. He was originally planning to move to Germany to pursue his PhD in solar energy, but after meeting a Norwegian woman at a salsa course, he decided to complete his doctorate in Norway instead.
– It’s all about timing
In recent years, Andres has been teaching at both Skeisvang Upper Secondary School and at HVL in Haugesund. When asked why he wanted to join Endra, he answers: For me, it’s mainly about timing. I believe we are living in a major transition period with many changes in technology, new societal challenges, and in a highly interconnected world. The challenges that will affect Europe will also shape Norway’s future energy policy, which is why solar energy will naturally be part of this development in Norway and the rest of Scandinavia.
– Has the elements needed to succeed in the futureAndres has already spent a few weeks at Endra and believes this is a company with great growth potential. – The team is very close-knit, and it feels like everyone is trying to help and support each other as best they can. Not least, Kristian, CEO of Endra, is very attentive and engaged, so my impression is that we have all the elements needed to succeed in the future.
And when it’s not about solar for Andres, it’s usually about music
He sings in a choir and has formed the rock band Laser Dinosaurs. Most people around him play instruments. – Haugesund is also a fantastic city for cycling, and Sandvesanden is a great place for surfing with the kids, he concludes.
We are very happy to have Andres on the team!
