Endra invests in Danish solar

Endra invests in Danish solar power – combining solar and battery storage
The Norwegian solar power company Endra AS has entered into an agreement to acquire 70 percent of Solcellepark Kroghøj in Denmark from Ænergy, a renewable energy project developer. Through the transaction, Ænergy’s owners, Jysk Energi and KP Invest, will remain directly involved as co-owners of the project.
Denmark has set an ambition to quadruple its solar and wind power production by 2030. New renewable energy from the Kroghøj solar park will be an important contribution to the country’s climate targets. The solar power plant was commissioned in the summer of 2025 with an installed capacity of 44 MWp, delivering approximately 52 GWh of renewable electricity annually – equivalent to the consumption of around 13,000 Danish households. This makes Kroghøj a large-scale solar park in the Danish context. The facility is technologically advanced, built with a tracker system that allows the panels to follow the sun’s movement across the sky.
The next phase will see the construction of a large-scale battery storage system at the park. This will enable solar energy to be stored and supplied when demand is highest, while also providing various ancillary services to stabilize and improve grid quality. The combination of solar and battery storage strengthens flexibility in the power system and serves as an important demonstration of how the energy solutions of the future may look.
Partnership with strong local players
Endra, which is part of the Haugaland Kraft Group, is entering Kroghøj together with the Danish energy group Jysk Energi and the investment company KP Invest, both of which already have extensive experience in renewable projects, the power market, and ground-mounted solar power. The ownership structure ensures local anchoring and access to valuable market and operational expertise.
– Endra’s strategy is profitable growth through developing the best solar power projects in the Nordics, and this investment is fully aligned with that strategy. Kroghøj is our first project outside Norway and marks an important milestone for us. It will strengthen our expertise in solar energy and energy storage and provide us with significant learning effects together with strong partners, says Endra CEO Kristian Gautesen.
– There are several interesting solar power projects for sale in the Nordics, at different stages of maturity. Our decision to invest in Kroghøj and contribute to further development of this park is based not only on the attractive returns, but also on who developed the project and who we will be partnering with. For us, it is important to collaborate with partners who share our values, long-term perspective, and risk approach – which is exactly what we have in this partnership, says Espen Nilsen, Head of M&A, Strategy, and Legal at Endra.
Expanding the project portfolio
Endra’s ambition is to become a leading solar power producer in the Nordics. The company already has several licenses and projects under development and construction in Norway and is actively pursuing opportunities in, among other countries, Finland and now Denmark.
– As the owner of Endra, we are proud to see how the company has already secured an exciting position in the Norwegian and Nordic solar power markets. So far, we have obtained two licenses in Norway for local projects in Vindafjord and Sveio, both showing good progress. The investment in a strong project like Kroghøj further strengthens the company and prepares us for continued growth opportunities in our core markets, says Pablo Barrera, CEO of Haugaland Kraft.
